Summary
FaithSaver is available on Roku, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire TV. Across all platforms, the app does not collect, store, or transmit personal information. It displays an offline image on launch and then fetches faith-based photography from a public GitHub repository. No accounts, no ads, no tracking. The project website is a static GitHub Pages site. If you submit content, we receive your submission and any contact details you provide.
What the app does — all platforms
- Network requests: The app makes HTTPS requests to GitHub's API and content servers to retrieve image lists and image files for your selected category. These requests are made using each platform's standard networking stack (URLSession on Apple TV, OkHttp/URLConnection on Fire TV, roUrlTransfer on Roku).
- No telemetry: The app does not send analytics events, advertising identifiers, crash reports, or other tracking data to us.
- Settings storage: Your selected image category is saved locally on your device only (UserDefaults on Apple TV, SharedPreferences on Fire TV, roRegistrySection on Roku). This data never leaves your device.
- Device data: We don't receive device identifiers or IP addresses from your device. When the app fetches images from GitHub, GitHub may receive your device's IP address and user-agent information in the ordinary course of delivering content, governed by GitHub's Privacy Policy.
- No accounts required: FaithSaver does not require you to create an account or sign in on any platform.
- No purchases or payments: The app is free and contains no in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Platform-specific notes
- Apple TV (tvOS): The app does not use Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA), HealthKit, or any other sensitive platform APIs. It requests only standard network access.
- Amazon Fire TV: The app does not use Amazon Advertising APIs, device identifiers, or any Amazon platform tracking services.
- Roku: The app does not use Roku's advertising or analytics APIs.
Website (GitHub Pages)
- Our site doesn't set cookies or run third-party analytics scripts.
- GitHub Pages and related hosting may maintain server logs (e.g., IP address, user-agent) as part of operating the service. Those logs are controlled by GitHub.
Submissions (Dropbox and email)
- Dropbox File Requests: If you upload an image via the provided Dropbox links, Dropbox receives the file and associated metadata to deliver it to us. Your use of Dropbox is subject to Dropbox's terms and privacy policy.
- Email: If you email a verse or other content, we'll receive your email address and any information you include. We use this to review, curate, and attribute submissions.
- Attribution: When you provide a name for credit, we may publish that name in the repository or on images, consistent with the submission's license.
